Rebecca Ganann Receives Respected Postdoctoral Fellow Leadership Award

We are very proud to announce Rebecca Ganann, is a recipient of the 2017 FHS Research Plenary Postdoctoral Fellow Leadership Award. Winners were chosen by a selection committee and the award recipients were celebrated at McMaster’s Faculty of Health Sciences Research Plenary Awards Reception yesterday.

Ganann says she has had a unique and impactful experiences throughout her fellowship with the ACHRU and she is very honoured to receive this award. “My ACHRU co-supervisors are excellent role models in research and skillfully mentor students in taking on leadership roles to build their own capacity in health services research, strategic partnerships, and supporting optimal health amongst older adults,” says Ganann, who is a trainee on three ACHRU studies and she co-leads the ACHRU knowledge translation study. “My early career in research has been strengthened by these experiences and I feel privileged to have also had the opportunity to contribute to the learning experiences of other trainees.”

The 2017 FHS Research Plenary Postdoctoral Fellow Leadership Award recognizes postdoctoral fellows in areas of health science research who have made outstanding contributions to the broader community, by leading graduate student or postdoctoral fellowship initiatives. The purpose of the award is to recognize excellence in leadership and generosity in initiatives to improve the community for other trainees.
